Rejected
Hi guys. Some advice needed here: I was on Mounjaro for eight months last year. Male, starting weight: 88kg 6 foot. Elevated blood pressure, feeling permanently ropey, keen to try it. Six months, lost approx 13kg, down to 74/75 kgs. Lots of exercise, not many side effects, felt fantastic. Then: price hike, ran out of money - had to stop just before Xmas without maintenance. Ideally, I would have maintained for as long as poss - all the research tells me everyone should be on GLP1’s, period. But I had to stop, no choice. It was ok for a couple of months, but then food noise became deafening, & it all came creeping back on. I’m now back to 82kg. Not catastrophic - but it’s going up relentlessly, & the feelings of lethargy are real & like a dead weight. Gutted. But then more funds become available (I’m freelance) - I think: I need to restart - to, at the least, get to that place of maintenance which I missed last time. BUT…I’ve been rejected twice. First by Medino, then by Cloud. Apparently, i’m outside their criteria for helping now because it’s been more more than three months since my last dose & I’m (presumably) not heavy enough to qualify. So my question is: do I have to end up back where I was before I’ll even be considered for another go?? If so, what a bonkers medical stance to take. I am actively prevented from using the medication as a preventative measure - only as an ‘all hands on deck’ panic button when my body is already waving a number of red flags. Nuts. Any advice? Who can I go to that is likely to be more flexible?
