PETG Filament settings

I purchased 3 different colors of this brand of PETG filament. If anyone here has ever used or uses this exact one, could someone please help me out with the best settings recommended. I just started using a brand new printer as well. Bambu Lab A1. In the first photo of the failed print session, I just tried to print at factory settings but it was with my own supports that I tried making and it was pretty stringy and started to fail quickly. The second photo, I did default supports which is someone’s supports. It was printing nicely until it got to roughly about 10% and it just didn’t really wanna print as it should. And on the second print, I also bumped into an issue. After right around 10% my printer started to make rattling noises. My nozzle would go to the far left after printing circles every round, once it goes to the far left, it’d make a rattle/vibration sound. Then my plate would move all the way back then come back, then nozzle would print one round, and this is on repeat. Hopefully this all makes sense for someone to understand me. This printer is brand stankin new, just put it together earlier today. Its firmware is up to date, and it’s been calibrated. Everything is on & plugged in. All screws are nicely tight. Everything is ran through good. Lubricant oil is put on. If someone can help me with these, I’d greatly appreciate your help a lot. Also, I’ve already dried the filament couple days ago for 6 hours at 65°C at 5% humidity. And I am trying to print a PS5 controller front face plate. Want to do the back and center once I can get the settings figured out.

Best settings recommended for that filament/brand.
Issues with the printer as described if anyone has had related problems.

[Anycubic Kobra 2] Z Offset Homing Failed / Printer Stops Mid-Print — Tried Everything I Can Think Of

Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone here with more experience can help me troubleshoot my printer because I’ve spent basically the entire day trying to fix this with no luck.

I have an Anycubic Kobra 2 that I bought back in 2024. I only used it twice for small test prints before lending it to a friend who’s really into 3D printing. I recently got it back and decided to start printing again.

The file I’m trying to print is a PS5 controller faceplate from Bambu Studio. The only changes I made were adjustments to the tree supports.

Since early this morning until late afternoon, I’ve been nonstop troubleshooting. My printer keeps giving me an error related to “Z offset homing failed” (or something very close to that wording). I’ve restarted the printer many times, ran auto-leveling several times, and adjusted the Z offset repeatedly.

Here’s what I tried with the Z offset:
- 0.10
- -0.10
- -0.15
- all the way down to -0.30

Even at lower offsets, the nozzle still seemed too high and the filament would just blob up instead of laying down properly.

At one point, I:
- powered the printer off completely
- turned it back on
- ran auto leveling again
- reset the Z offset back to 0

I’m printing with PETG filament, and my settings were:
- Nozzle: 235°C
- Bed: 75°C
- Fan: 30%
- Speed: 80%

After doing that, the printer actually started printing correctly for about 10–15 seconds, but then the nozzle suddenly lifted, returned to its home position, and the printer displayed the same “Z offset homing failed” message again.

Additional things I already checked:
- Filament was dried for about 6 hours at 65°C and around 5% humidity
- No clog in the nozzle
- No filament stuck to the tip
- All cables are fully plugged in
- Bed plate was cleaned
- Watched multiple YouTube videos but couldn’t find anything matching my exact issue

I also tried printing a simple calibration cube after someone suggested it, but it immediately turned into a blob as well.

At this point I’m honestly worried something may be damaged or broken on the printer itself. I really hope not, because I can’t afford to replace it right now.

If anyone has experience with this issue on an Anycubic Kobra 2 and could help walk me through troubleshooting step-by-step, I’d seriously appreciate it. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help.
