I have an older Daikin wall-mounted split AC (approx. 2010–2014, likely FTXS/FTKS series) with a standard IR remote (no WiFi module installed).

I’m trying to integrate it into Apple Home via Homebridge and looking for the most reliable setup.

From what I understand, there are 2 main approaches:

  1. IR blaster (Sensibo / Tado / Broadlink, etc.)
    - Easy to install
    - Works via remote emulation
    - But no real state feedback (AC doesn’t confirm actual status)

  2. Native Daikin WiFi adapter + Homebridge plugin
    - More “proper” integration (state, modes, etc.)
    - But not sure if my older unit supports it / which adapter model is needed

---

Questions:

  1. What would you recommend specifically for an older Daikin like this?
  2. Best IR device today (reliable with Homebridge)?
  3. Has anyone successfully added a Daikin WiFi module to older FTXS units?
  4. Any setups that give actual state feedback (not just “dumb remote”)?

The news say: “22 of Russia’s 30 most popular Android apps monitor whether users have VPN enabled”. The rumors say, that by collecting this data the apps helps authorities to block available VPNs.

What are the way to hide information about user VPN?

And before somebody replied, I know that apps can collect information about IP from which user accesses the app - and guess if this is a VPN or not. The question is precisely about limiting those apps getting informations about on-device VPN.

I need a VPS located in Qatar or UAE to use as an exit node for routing purposes.

What I care about most:

  • Low latency and stable uptime
  • At least 1 Gbps port, 1-2 TB monthly traffic is enough
  • Clean IP (not flagged/blacklisted)
  • SSH access, standard Linux support
  • Other regions in MENA also fine

Not looking for managed hosting, just a plain VPS I can configure myself.
