Moved into this place in the fall. I've been noticing bad smells (rotting meat) lately, and finally spotted this hole behind the bushes. Underneath I can see one of the particle boards has come partly down and insulation has been strewn all over.

I scattered wood ash by the hole and can see a few little pawprints (pic 4, car key for scale). Looks like a cat paw but I'm no expert.

I assume this thing is coming and going as it pleases and leaving dead prey inside. I'd love to know what it might be and how to avoid this for the future. For reference I'm in New England.
