Someone save my orchid pls :(

I’m a newbie at plants. I got this purple orchid last summer, and it stayed bloomed for a few months. The bark then got really weird like it became the texture of dry mud almost. At that point I asked chat gbt what to do being a newbie and it told me I need to repot it. I got new bark for orchids and repotted it, within a few days the leaves started to deflate and die down and then the stems went brown. Again being a newbie I asked chat gbt again and it said my orchid is in shock ?? And it noticed the brown stems so told me to cut it and leave it back in the bark. I did that, only water around once a week and it’s kept out of indirect sunlight ( I think). It’s still dying down. What’s happening and how do I revive it please!!!!
