SONG OF THE WEEK: VANA “In Your Name” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwt_uvey4wA

“ST. LOUIS – Oli Sykes, the lead singer of British rock band Bring Me the Horizon, says he suffered a mild concussion after an audience member apparently threw a phone that struck him onstage Monday evening at the Enterprise Center. A video shared by BMTH News, a platform that promotes the band, showed a phone striking Sykes on the left side of his head as the band performed a tune called “Happy Song.” “Who the f*** just threw a phone at my f*****g head?” said Sykes, following the completion of “Happy Song,” visibly distraught after he was struck. The video later shows Sykes handing the phone to a security worker. He also appeared to check his hands for blood and paused several times during the next song to rub his head. According to a Billboard report, on Tuesday, Sykes shared an update on his condition Tuesday via an Instagram story. “Alright everyone, just wanted to let you know I’m all good,” said Sykes. “The phone to the head definitely smarted and I ended up with a mild concussion, but the swelling’s gone down a decent amount already.” (Fox 2 St. Louis)

Five Songs To Get Into SLEEP TOKEN

Five Songs to get into Sleep Token. Not saying these are the best Sleep Token songs, but rather the songs to help someone get into the band.

“Alkaline” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU5vVT_Cp7c
“The Summoning” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJNbtYdr-Hg
“Vore” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zDjAtG_y5A
“Emergence” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJpFTUP6fIo
“Caramel” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iSvoQNfrrk

Sleep Token are an English rock band formed in London in 2016. Their music has garnered widespread media attention and popularity in recent years due to their esoteric storytelling, vulnerable lyrics, and the inclusion of often two or more genres in their music to create a unique sound. To date, they have released four studio albums, two EPs, two standalone songs, and multiple covers. The band consists of two main members, only known as Vessel and II, and two touring members, known as III and IV. The members have never revealed their names or identities and prefer to be anonymous. On stage, they conceal themselves with masks, long robes, and black body paint.” (Wiki)

SONG OF THE WEEK: Motionless In White ft. Corey Taylor “Playing God” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2ZBtkEpGdw

“Motionless In White are at home in the dark. For over 20 years, the quintet — Chris Motionless [vocals], Ricky Olson [guitar], Ryan Sitkowski [guitar], Vinny Mauro [drums], and Justin Morrow [bass] — have resided in their own shadowy corner of alternative music and culture. The group's uncanny alchemy of metal, hardcore, goth, industrial, and electronic has magnetically attracted an ardent audience, fueling a quiet rise out of the Rust Belt and into arenas as a headlining force of nature.  Their D.I.Y. work ethic drives the evolution of an immersive world where stunning visuals match the scope of the sound. The collective come full circle on their seventh full-length offering Decades. For as much as it conjures their signature style, the LP sees them continue to confidently cut a path through uncharted territory, spreading a little darkness in their wake.”

SONG OF THE WEEK: Cage Fight “Oxygen” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRCl9exrTtM

“After a hiatus, Sick New World has returned to Las Vegas in 2026, once again featuring System Of A Down, a plethora of heavy bands from the past several decades to new groups, and a massive amount of energy drinks fueling people to the point of burnout by 4PM. The way festivals were intended to be for 2026. Sick New World 2026 was a return to form for the festival that I think people realized just how much it was missed last year. Korn and Evanescence both debuting new songs live for the first time, End It encouraging GA fans to crash into VIP because “Security can’t stop you all!”, Danny Elfman once again stealing the show with an epic performance and this time with guest musicians, there was a lot to take in.” (Continued on Rocked.net)

Machine Gun Kelly collaborated with Fred Durst as MGK tries to cash in on nu metal. Sorry nu metal, but MGK has a new genre to rip off.

“Machine Gun Kelly is leaning into a heavier sound, teaming up with Fred Durst for a new single that taps directly into the spirit of late-’90s nu-metal. The track, titled “Fix Ur Face,” pairs MGK’s genre-blurring style with Durst’s unmistakable presence, delivering a loud, aggressive record built on distorted guitars and high-energy delivery. It marks one of MGK’s most direct nods to the era that helped define artists like Durst and Limp Bizkit. The collaboration isn’t coming out of nowhere as the two have crossed paths for years, including sharing stages earlier in MGK’s career. Behind the scenes, MGK worked with a familiar group of collaborators on the record, continuing the creative partnerships that have shaped his recent releases.” (Complex)

A look back at the Lamb of God album Sacrament from 2006 and seeing how it holds up 20 years later.

Twenty years ago, Lamb of God released Sacrament — and the heavy metal world was never quite the same. Dropping in August 2006, the Richmond, Virginia groove metal titans delivered what many consider their most commercially ambitious record, landing at #8 on the Billboard 200 and introducing a generation of new fans to their punishing brand of American metal. With tracks like "Redneck," "Blacken the Cursed Sun," and "Walk With Me in Hell," Sacrament balanced raw aggression with mainstream accessibility in a way few metal albums had managed before. But does it still hit as hard in 2026 as it did back then? That's exactly what we're here to find out.
