Some time ago while scrolling through YouTube Shorts I got a sponsored video from a small Italian channel called “Tramonto nelle Tenebre” and the whole thing immediately felt off. The video starts with this disturbing Jesus-like figure screaming and then shows a bunch of strange photomontages and animated/cartoon-like figures with a really unsettling atmosphere. At first I thought it was just some obscure horror project but after checking the channel a bit more it honestly started feeling more like some kind of ideological cult/sect thing.
The description of the channel is also really fucked up and insanely weird. It’s written almost like some kind of religious manifesto and talks about the collapse of the Christian world, death, reproduction and obedience in this extremely serious and historical way that barely even sounds real.
What also caught my attention is that the sponsored video has over 1 million views (so the creator must’ve spent a pretty insane amount of money promoting it) but barely any likes or engagement which makes the whole thing feel even stranger.
I never really went deep into the channel myself but it genuinely feels like the creator is trying to spread some kind of message through these videos. Maybe it’s just an experimental art project, maybe not. I’ll link the channel/video and maybe you guys can tell me if it’s worth digging deeper into it.
