[SPOILERS] Dead Kings DLC heartstrings
For context, I finished Unity yesterday for the first time since I was little (and can actually understand the plot now) and sat staring at the credits absolutely dumbstruck and heartbroken by the ending. That death scene had me angry, sad, frustrated, and resigned. In other words, I was completely in grief and really need a hug lol. The theme of Unity finally carried real emotional weight for me, hearing those sad melodies!
That being said, I just played the mission in Dead Kings where Arno thinks he sees Elise at the tavern, only to find that it was just a really strong look-alike. It hurt soooo bad! I'm running, knowing she's gone, trying to rationalize what's happening, hoping against all odds that maybe, just maybe there was something I somehow hadn't heard of after all these years with Elise, just to have it all shattered again. It hurts almost as bad as the first time.
Anyone else have any similar moments of raw heartache/sadness with this scene too? Or maybe with any of the other games in general?
