I've been stuck on Alpha Sapphire pre gym 8 for at least half a year, because of all of the mirage spots. Last month I even completed a second playthrough on Omega Ruby just to be able to get double the spots every day. Of course I've not checked every day these last 6 months, but I'm still missing 5 whole lines (Meowth, Elekid, Munna, Minccino and Vullaby. I know the last 4 are available in the friend safari in X and Y, but I'm not nearly far enough in those games, and even than I'll still be missing Meowth.

Is it acceptable to just move on with the challenge and get them later when they'll finally decide to show up or no?
