Home insurance increase: Am I just being dim?

My annual renewal for my home insurance policy has arrived. I usually just glance at it, note if it's change a great deal, then let it auto-tick over. This year though, I noticed if jump by quite a bit. So, I spent a whole minute longer looking at it. Natwest had pushed my policy up by a whopping 37%, in ONE YEAR. I have had no changes in my life, nor have I claimed on anything.

How is that even legal? Of course I cancelled it, and found one that was almost the same as last year's premium. Am I missing something though? Is this normal? Because I can read that they have had a bumper year in 2025, to the value of £7 BILLION in profits... The fact that just questioning the cost made it go down by £30 instantly infuriates me as many people wouldn't.
