BOOK OF THE MONTH: preselection poll

Hello dear readers!

Enough of you were interested in and excited by the idea of having a book of the month in June (starting off pride strong!), that we're here to deliver the next steps!

Here's how we're going to do this:

  1. THIS WEEK: vote for your preferred genre.
  2. NEXT WEEK: after that's decided, the mods will hide in recommendation lab and pull out some book options that fit the bill (and maybe 1 rogue one). We'll then put out another poll with book title options.
  3. BY JUNE: we'll have crowned a book of the month. This book will have a dedicated megathread pinned on our sub for you all to discuss as you read (or as you finish)!

POLL INFO:

Poll ends on Sunday.

Even if your preferred genre is already in the poll we would love and appreciate if you left us a comment about preferences for that genre.

Some examples: are you're picking Fantasy because you want an epic fantasy with a sapphic heroine or is it because you want a Romantasy? If you're picking Lit-Fic what are you looking for in mood and themes. etcetcetc

Tickets Megathread

Starting a fresh megathread due to the high amount of posts about old dates + heavy ISO posts on the previous megathread making it not fit for purpose anymore. Everyone who was selling tickets on that post had either completed their sale or their show date has already gone by.

This new megathread will also serve as a trial for several tweaks we are planning for the ticket megathread that will be released for the full tour - after the album release shows.

We understand the urge to post "ISO" tickets, however it will be safer if buyers comment on people selling only and do not post their own comments. This is because Mods will have no way of knowing (and banning) scammers who direct message you after seeing your post. But if a seller gets flagged to the Mods for being suspicious we can ban them from posting. Please trust that people trying to sell a ticket will post, and you can comment/message them.

As always please be extremely careful when buying/selling tickets on the internet. Ask for proof before exchanging any personal information or money. We strongly recommend using PayPal for any transaction, as it offers the best buyer protection. The mods of this subreddit do not check tickets for authenticity, but as always we will be constantly monitoring this megathread and banning known scammers.

To limit likelihood of scammers this post is significantly limited. E.g. users with brand new profiles or negative karma cannot post. If you encounter a suspicious user or a potential scammer, please report their comment or send a message to ModMail. Please use this template or your comment will not be posted. You are welcome to add more info (about you, why you're selling, fave muna song, best dad joke..) after the following template:

CITY & STATE: [Insert Location]

VENUE: [Insert Venue Name]

PRICE: [Insert Price range]

Hello wonderful people!

With this subreddit getting a fresh new look, we couldn't resist adding one more lil surprise, Bingo fun baby!

Rules are simple:

From May 1st to September 30th, dive into as many books from the bingo card as you can. Download the image, cross off your reads, and share your progress in the comments (with the names of your books, no gatekeeping). You can also add the "Bingo Sapphic" user flair on your name and rep your competitive reading pride!

First one to black out the whole board? You win absolute glory across the land of Sapphic Books and a special "Bingo Winner" flair!

MUNA is here to be your agony aunt (gender-neutral). A confidant who can listen to your problems and share wisdom on striking the balance between having a fun, sexy time, knowing your worth and staying true to your values. “You’ve got to fuck around and find out. Sometimes you’ve just got to dance on the cliff of a person,” Josette Maskin affirms, referencing the title track of the band’s new album, Dancing on the Wall.

For their Gay Times cover interview, the band offer advice to lost and lonely lesbian-adjacent lovers all over the world – championing messy queers, breaking free from stale situationships, dishing on the gossip dos and don’ts, embracing emotional discomfort and detailing why we should all crush on our friends, as well as with total strangers.
