Play MyCareer Offline via MyNBA with this AI Prompt

LONG POST AHEAD

I’ve created a workaround to play a narrative-driven career offline—avoiding the "cash-grab" mechanics of modern 2K titles—by using AI to add unique twists to the experience.

How it Works

Copy the prompt provided at the bottom of this post and paste it into any AI tool (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude). The AI acts as your "League Architect," tracking your progress and assigning custom missions to complete in-game.

The Setup

Enter MyNBA Eras and create your custom player.

Add that player to the upcoming draft class and simulate the first season until you are drafted.

Select the team that drafted you, enable Player Lock, and play however you like.

Gameplay Loop

After the setup, provide your player details to the AI. It will then generate three weekly missions for you to choose from, each with different rewards and penalties. Choose your mission and play through that week's schedule.

Once the week is over, send your box score stats to the AI. You will earn Attribute Points (AP) based on your performance:

1 Pt: 0.1 AP

1 Reb / 1 Ast / 1 Blk / 1 Stl: 0.5 AP each

Team Win: 2 AP

Turnover / Foul: -0.5 AP each

Career Milestones: All-Star (20 AP), Season Awards (30 AP), Conf. Finals (50 AP), Championship (100 AP).

Upgrading Your Player

You can spend your earned AP to manually upgrade your player's attributes and badges.

Upgrade Costs (Per +1 Attribute Point):

Under 75 Rating: 5 AP

75–85 Rating: 10 AP

85+ Rating: 20 AP

Hot Zone: 20 AP

Badge Costs (Stackable):

Bronze: 10 AP

Silver: +15 AP

Gold: +20 AP

HOF: +25 AP

Legend: +30 AP

Note: When upgrading, tell the AI the specific attribute, the current rating, and the target rating (e.g., "Upgrade Driving Dunk from 78 to 85"). You can also choose to save your AP for later.

The "Front Office" Feature

I’ve also included a feature where you can visit the Front Office to make demands of the GM or Head Coach (e.g., requesting a trade or more minutes).

The AI will assess the difficulty of your request and set the "Difficulty Class" (odds). It will then roll a D20 (like in Dungeons & Dragons) to determine if your demand is met or rejected.

Important Reminders

- You must manually apply all changes, including attribute and badge changes within the game’s edit player menu. The AI tracks the logic; you implement the results.

- AI can occasionally hallucinate or make math errors. Always double-check your AP totals and correct the AI if it misses a stat.
