My best friend encouraged me to join the Discord server for this group because that's how she met her boyfriend a while ago, but it seems pretty dead. Or maybe I'm using it wrong.

Has anyone else had luck through Discord and if so, some tips and tricks would be great to share here for those in a similar boat. I feel like I've tried every traditional avenue to meet people and this might be my last resort to finding my person.

I’ve been with this ministry for a year now as MCP on contract and since joining my team, I’ve identified major gaps in processes and workflows.

I recently tried to improve my team’s processes and fill gaps in a way that would greatly benefit my team by suggesting a new workflow.

However, I was shot down and basically told to tread lightly and be very cautious about making any changes because apparently, our stakeholder team is upset with the way I went about it.

For context, I’m not in a leadership role, but the people who are are passive and complacent, so I decided to take action and do something about it while still keeping my lead and my manager in the informed.

I’d like a permanent position and thought taking initiative like this would help, but for some reason, it backfired. I feel like showing genuine passion and care in the OPS isn’t encouraged the same way it would be in private.

Mind you, there are people on my team who complain about how bad the process is since they joined years ago, and yet they haven’t done anything to improve it. I find this so strange.

Now what? Should I just keep my head down until I get a permanent position or leave the OPS altogether and go back to private?
