Carly and Spencer’s Mom
I posed this as a YouTube comment but I feel like I wanted to mention it here too to get some more thoughts:
Firstly, I wish they would’ve built up to the return of their mom throughout the series. There was only one mention of her before the S3 finale, and then all this lore of their mother just started pouring out. It was too abrupt and felt out of place. It had me thinking, why would she show up to Marissa and Lewbert’s wedding? Therefore, this is my theory (and to me, the only logical reason why she was there.)
Carly never ended the livestream when she was feeding the plants!! Then the room blew up and they began talking about their mom. I’ve always believed their mom probably watched iCarly from afar, but she never felt like it was her place to try and reach out… until she overheard the “mom talk” they had. That, and their near death experience when the room exploded, probably invoked some feeling of guilt and regret in her which made her determined to go out of her way to find them. Hence, she showed up to the wedding.
If this movie actually happens, I’d like to see a flashback of the mom watching the livestream and going out of her way to find them.
