As I was attempting to remove the carb for the first time ever (since I bought it) to change the carb boot and clean the jets, this part snapped. I researched it and it seems to be “Yamaha AIR CUT VALVE ASS'Y 4WM-14840-00-00”

I read somewhere that someone blocked the part off somehow and that the bike ran fine.

What options do I have here?

This SUPER sucks I can’t keep dumping money into this “ great bike will run forever super reliable fun will never let you down” bike 😓😓😓**.**

I just needed to clean the jets and now this is happening.

PLEASE HELP I’m losing it. It’s money and hours into this bike each time and I’m not even taking it out to the dirt or abusing it at all and stuff keeps happening.

Hello!

My XT225 has becoming VERY hard to start no matter if it's cold or hot, or even just restarting immediately after turning it off. It can just crank and crank and crank. Choke on, choke off, doesn't matter. Eventually it starts, often times I get it to start by twisting the throttle while cranking.

I just adjusted my valves thinking it could be it, both sides were a bit loose. Set them to spec but after a test drive the bike was super hard to start after just getting back.

Could it be a carb issue? Can I remove the carb bowl and jets without removing the carb?

This symptom crept up on me without having made any changes to the bike, and it's driven almost daily as well so it hasn't been sitting for more than 2-5 days in a row if that, and that happens rarely

Hello! I have a 2006 XT225 which I am using for my daily commute to work and I love this little bike. Today a fellow Yamaha rider told me my cam chain tensioner needed replacing, due to how my bike is sounding.

The OEM one is $100+. Is this one of those parts that MUST be OEM? Or can I get an aftermarket one and get good service from it? Any suggestions on which one to buy?

This bike is a keeper for me. 16,000 miles on the odometer. I've owned it for like 10 months now, and put 4,000 miles on the clock.

Also, any tips or things to watch out for when replacing? Thanks!
