Hi guys,

Could someone please confirm whether non-member student registration for IFoA is only open during the exam registration window? The option is currently visible on my portal, but I’m not sure if I should proceed now or wait..since I am planning to appear for the Sept 2026 attempt.

Also, I’m trying to apply for the reduced rates as I’m a student with no personal source of income (my education is currently funded by my parents). However, the form is asking me to enter a whole number for total annual income and isn’t accepting 0, which is confusing.

I also watched a few YouTube tutorials where their form looked different...they had options to indicate low income, mention financial support, and upload supporting documents as proof. I’m not seeing any of those options, just the income field.

Has anyone faced something similar or knows what I should do in this case?

I’m appearing for the IFoA September attempt of CM1 and am currently taking coaching for the same. We were initially told that the syllabus is exactly the same across both institutes, IAI and IFoA.

However, I recently came across information suggesting that there might be slight differences in the syllabus. Could someone please confirm if that’s true?

Also, if possible, could someone share the detailed syllabus or direct me to where I can find it on the IFoA website? I wasn’t able to locate a clear version..only saw that there have been no changes from the 2025 syllabus.

Or, could someone confirm whether the initial theoretical chapters like data analysis, principles, cashflows, etc., are still part of the curriculum? I’ve heard that the syllabus may have been reduced, but am not sure so just wanted to confirm so that I can prepare accordingly.

I’d really appreciate any help or guidance, as I’m still getting familiar with how to effectively use or navigate the IFoA resources..thank you so much :)
