My first engine removal.

My first engine removal. Can’t wait to open it and see how good or bad it is. Out of nowhere started misfiring, tested for compression and the front rotor was around 35psi and the rear was around 80psi.

The best tip I can give to anyone planning on doing this is to remove the brace under the transmission, remove engine mounts and brackets for the mounts and then lower the engine until it hits the crossmember at the front of the engine. This will give a lot of working space for removing upper intake, clutch slave and top bolts on the transmission.

Opening my first engine

Got a used, trashed engine to practice on it before working on my own. Most of it is unusable but at least one of the housings is looking pretty good.

My car suddenly started sounding like it was running on only one rotor. Did a compression test and the front rotor was around 35psi with the rear in the 80s. My worry is that the front housing may be toast since all three faces were in the 30 psi range.
