Over the past several weeks, I had leaking in my 99-yr-old house and had a couple roofers out to provide me with quotes. We discovered the leaks are most likely coming from the third floor dormer. The wood is rotted out underneath the metal. I don’t know when it was last replaced but it’s at least 20-years old. The dormer is in the back of the house so I’m not overly concerned about appearances.

One roofer is suggesting pvc and the other metal wrapped wood. Both have their reasoning and think their way is best. What are your suggestions/experiences?
