I posted a month or so ago about a new app I've been making for marking scripts, which several people on here helped test during development. I'm pleased to announce that it is now live on the App Store!
Promptbook is designed to serve DSM's, Technicians and Stage management. It is a highly flexible way to mark up scripts as a replacement for 'the book'.
Rather than using pen and paper, Promptbook allows you to select the text for a cue and create cues across multiple cue lists (with user definable auto increments), which will be formatted as per a paper copy. With 10 layout options (single and double pages, cross page notes, column views) the scripts can easily be tailored to your personal preferences or changed for export. Similarly if you share the file with others they can tailor it to their own preferences.
A DSM mode adds standbys and Go's to cue display, while a show mode highlights the next cue, shows the current state for all cue lists and adds a marker for the duration of the time you are in standby.
The app can also generate PDF cue lists (EXCEL format to come) with numbers, labels, timings, notes and the selected cue text (automatically brought in from the script with the option to add leading words or overwrite). The app also supports the ability to export as a CSV compatible with ETC EOS import which will bring the cues correctly numbered, labelled and timed into EOS.
All your documents are synced via iCloud between your own devices (iPad compatible with pencil support).
There is also the option to import new/updated versions of scripts, promptbook will attempt to automatically retarget the cues in the new script based on the text and position, then asking the user for confirmation on attempts to match the cue semantically or for ones it cannot target.
The app is still very actively developed so rest assured that if there is anything you feel it is missing, get in touch and we can let you know if it's in the pipeline.
Sadly there is no free version, but it is a one off charge and any updates or new features will be brought to the original version of the app, as well as being a license for both Mac and iPad. Currently the app is only £5.99 but this may increase as time goes on.
