Need Urgent Help
My brother-in-law was trying to buy a car for my sister and found listings on Dubizzle where dealers were offering “brand new” cars cheaper than official agencies. He went to a showroom in Dubai, agreed on a deal, and paid the full amount (around 60,000 AED) with a promise that the car would be delivered within a week.
It’s now been 4 months with no car. The dealer stopped responding, and although they gave him a refund cheque, it bounced due to insufficient funds. We tried filing a complaint with Dubai DED, but they said the showroom is registered in Sharjah, so we contacted Sharjah DED and still haven’t received any response.
After digging deeper, we found multiple Google reviews from people reporting the same issue, some waiting over a year. We’re trying to avoid going to court because of the time and cost, but we’re not sure what else to do. If anyone has been through something similar or knows what steps we can take next, I’d really appreciate the advice.
