I’m a CS Master’s student, and I spent 300 commits building the Quizlet alternative we actually deserve.
Let’s be real: Quizlet has become a bloated, expensive mess. I got so tired of their constant paywalls, blurry screenshots for math, and a UI that feels like it’s fighting you, that I decided to build my own solution. I’m a Computer Science Master’s student, and I’ve used flashcards to carry me through some of the hardest exams in my degree. I wanted a tool that worked for me, not against my wallet.
After 30,000+ lines of code and 300+ commits, I’ve finally launched the beta for Notum Learn.
Why Notum kicks Quizlet’s ass (especially for STEM):
- Native $\LaTeX$ Support: Stop uploading grainy JPEGs of your equations. Notum renders sharp, vector-based math directly. Whether it’s $\sum_{i=1}^{n}$ or complex integrals like $\oint_C \mathbf{F} \cdot d\mathbf{r}$, it just works.
- Zero "Quick Tip" Clutter: No annoying banners telling you how to fill out a text box. It’s a Zen-like writing experience.
- Built for Speed: No lag, no bloat. Just SvelteKit + Supabase performance that lets you flip through cards as fast as your brain can handle.
- By a Student, For Students: I’m not a massive corporation; I’m a guy using this exact app to get my own grades.
I’m looking for early adopters who are as fed up with the status quo as I am. It’s in beta, and I need your brutal feedback to make it even better.

If you’re tired of paying for basic features and want a tool that actually respects your time (and your math), give Notum a shot. Let's make studying actually efficient again. 🧠🚀
