but you are overworked af because you have no senior,

and those works are not typically for someone at his/her first job?

idk whats wrong with me

Gusto ko muna mag travel ng malayo kasi feeling ko na burnt out talaga ako. I graduated last year May, review agad for CELE and aiming for top pa (muntikan narin mag top, .2 yung difference sa akin and nung top 10). Gusto ko magpahinga ng isang year at tanungin sarili ko ano ba talaga purpose ko or ano ba talaga gusto ko sa buhay.

Im a licensed fresh grad who passed last Nov 2025. My job rn is P.I.C. I’m almost at my 2nd month here. Wala naman problema kasi free relocation since 700+ km away from home yung project. I also earn almost 30k a month, kasama allowance and OT. The problem is wala kami benefits, contract, whatsoever.

I worked as a structural engineer as my first job pero di rin ako nagtagal ng 1 month kasi I was so drained and demotivated.

am I being ungrateful?

Mataas na chika to hahahaha

I’m a fresh grad CE who passed the board exam last November 2025. I’m at my first month sa job ko. Rekta agad as P.I.C sa isang STARTUP company. Malaki din yung project, 4 storey commercial building of a known mall na maraming branches. Yung scope ng work namin is architectural works, not civil works. So I have no idea why my boss hired a civil engineer for this job.

Yung boss ko din walang alam sa construction industry, mayaman lang talaga and same age lang kami. Nakuha lang namin tong project nato kasi he has a very close and intimate connection sa owner ng mall na ipapatayo.

Honestly, nakakfrustrate kasi para akong ginawang pawn dito.

Ako lang isa engineer pinadala dito and wala akong senior engineer na mapagtatanungan sa company namin. Ako yung sumasalo ng galit every meeting from different engineers kasi uncooperative din yung boss ko sa protocols due to the fact na may direct connection siya sa owner, and I’m unfamiliar with how things work since this is my first job. Also, wala kami contract or benefits whatsoever.

Kung nagtatanong kayo bat di ako makapagresign? Free relocation and I earn around 25k a month depending sa OT. Also, I handle all the money here for materials so you know what I mean 😉

So, should I resign or am I being ungrateful and better stay?

tips in becoming a structural engineer

Hello, I’m a new civil engineering graduate currently working in construction as my first job. My role is mostly focused on fit-out works.

I’m really interested in becoming a structural engineer, but I’m not sure where to start. I don’t feel very confident in my knowledge yet, and I’m also not familiar with the software typically used in structural engineering.

My current plan is to start by reading structural engineering books to strengthen my fundamentals. Although we were thought about it during college, I kinda forgot about it lol. After that, I plan to learn the relevant software, then start applying to structural firms.

Is this the right approach? Or should I just start learning softwares right away.
