Getting into Estimating

I’ve spent the last 7 years as a union ironworker and I think I want to transition into an office job. I recently took an estimating fundamentals course through my union, but that alone doesn’t give me the experience or qualifications needed to land a job as an estimator. Would it be worth it for me to get a certification like the CPE or AEP? I don’t have a degree in engineering/construction management so I’m looking for a way to boost my resume a bit.
