Pharmacy gave me a new manufacturer today and I’m scared 🥲
I have been seeing posts about how different manufacturers of generic adderall are trash and i finally got around to asking my pharmacist which brands I’ve been getting so I can keep track. Two months in a row I got amerigen? And one month I got lanett since switching pharmacies (cvs was out of stock 3 months ago when my dr increased my dose to 20mg XR)
Lanett was ok but not life changing I didn’t feel super focused but it didn’t feel like I was taking a sugar pill either.
Amerigen was weird since I had two different batches from that manufacturer some days I felt like it worked a little and some days not at all and would crash super early when I’m on extended release so it was not feeling like I got a full 12 hours. I started asking my dr about getting a mid day IR to help but she had me go for blood work instead to see if there’s an underlying cause for my fatigue. Iron and vit D is low so treating that first before she ups my dose / prescribes a booster.
Today I picked up my prescription and got something new.. camber. Quick search while I was talking to the pharmacist and pulled up a post about how it’s a nightmare and gave people “idiopathic hypersomnia” which is literally something I already suffered from I am chronically fatigued during the day with brain fog and take long naps which disrupts my sleep schedule and causes me to be awake all night. I only ever feel productive at night but this apparently causes sleep drunkenness similar to narcolepsy… ADDERALL IS LITERALLY PRESCRIBED FOR NARCOLEPSY and you’re telling me it’s causing narcolepsy symptoms?!!!
My question is since adderall isn’t really working for adhd as of late is it even working for people taking it for narcolepsy??? I’m so incredibly frustrated and I don’t even want to take this months prescription 😭 I literally just had two appointments to discuss this exact concern with my dr and was given what seems like the worst possible version of generic this month.
