Well. What now? Its over.
New-Gen fan here. Ive started watching football in 2021 and became a fan in 2022 after looking at this clubs history and the ups and downs we had. Remember: 2022/23 started well enough, it was the last season in the prem before relegation.
I thought that I was gonna support an honest club, a dark horse that could upset the big guns from time to time, as they did 2016 and 2021. Sadly the only thing they upset since then are themselves.
Honestly, I cant see us in the Prem in the near future. Too big are the financial struggles, the poor management and the fact that we need to rebuilt our entire roster. A portion of our squad has prem expirience, and now they fumbled so hard that we are going down to league one.
May we see the Prem again someday, but we arent ready for it even after we get back to back promotions.
I just feel weird, each one of my friends supports a club that is atleast in the highest division of the league system, and im here supporting a 3rd tier side. Not because I have some rare ball knowledge or because its my local club (I live oversees), but just because we have fallen so damn much. All i fucking want is to see this team win again. Ive stopped following the games actively over the last 2 Months just because i couldnt fucking bother looking at the 23rd loss in a row or a fumbled draw against some fucking milk farmers from south england.
Im screaming at myself to keep supporting this club, just because if we ever win again, then it will feel even better.
I wont lose hope, but we are fucked.
