Endurance Sports & Fueling
Hi all. I started Semaglutide about 8 weeks ago. I am experiencing what I’m considering to be “normal” side effects (little nausea, some stomach issues, etc.) but nothing ground breaking.
My main issue has been when I run. At my (28m) heaviest (250lb) I would still run distance up to half marathons. I would need to eat/drink during these long runs which was never a problem. Now, it’s increasingly hard to eat & drink during these runs. I can usually get Gu’s, water and electrolytes down, but have awful cramps and the feeling that I’m gonna shit myself (especially after Gu’s and electrolytes). I also notice I’m not drinking enough water, but I think this can be managed by using a schedule for my intake.
I know and understand these are normal side effects, but I am hoping to hear methods some of you who were/are in similar sports have tried to mitigate them.
