i’m on an upcycling-my-entire-wardrobe rabbithole at the moment and would love to dye these denim trousers to a nice purple shade. i love that the original jeans have two slightly different shades of blue and would love for the final result to have the same effect with the new colour - will this transfer easily or should i buy two different shades of purple to succeed?

the trousers are 100% cotton.

also, is there anything i need to know about denim dyeing specifically? is it any different from dyeing e.g. t-shirts?

sorry for the bad photo quality, it’s very bright outside so you can’t really see that much!

right, so within the last month or two i’ve been noticing bees managing to get between my window’s insect screen and the window itself. the screen doesn’t have any holes or gaps for the bees to get through, so it can’t be the issue. i have no idea how keep managing getting between the screen and the glass, maybe there’s holes or tubes connecting my window frame with the outer wall of the house? like for water drainage?

my flat is on the 10th floor of my building right in the city center (i live in germany), there’s no hive like structures anywhere i can see.

could it be mason bees that are nesting and laying eggs somewhere in the wall/window frame of my flat? i know that they’re harmless but i have a massive wasp phobia and anything that looks even remotely like a wasp (which bees unfortunately do to an extend) sets me off into panic mode, so not being able to open the window without the fear of a bee getting inside is quite stressful, especially since i’ve been getting these visits every other day lately.

is there anything i can do to stop the bees from nesting in my window frame? i really don’t want to (and won’t) kill them, but my friends aren’t always available to help me replace them, so i need to eventually find a solution to keep the bees outside without harming them. maybe someone here has any suggestions on what i could do to either make my window frame less attractive for them or keep them out in any way? also, are the tiny black things in the screen next to the bee in the first photo eggs or could in any way be related to the bees?

if it was a balcony i’d be less stressed about it, but having them be directly in my flat when my window is open is just not it, i’m not brave like that i fear. 😭

moini, wie im titel schon angekündigt habe ich in den letzten 1-2 monaten regelmäßig bienen, die es irgendwie durch das für mein fenster maßgefertigte, löcherfreie insektengitter schaffen. hab aufgrund von helligkeit draußen leider keine besseren fotos machen können und traue mich aktuell auch nicht das fenster zu öffnen, da das tier eventuell in die wohnung gelangen könnte und ich leider an ner recht intensiven wespenphonie leide und da alles mit reinfällt, was auch nur ansatzweise so aussieht - bienen fallen da leider auch mit rein, dementsprechend stresst mich die situation enorm. will und werde sie aber natürlich auch nicht töten, aber immer wieder jeden tag raussetzen und angst vorm lüften haben ist schon hart nervig.

hab also ein paar fragen:

hat hier irgendwer ne ahnung was das für bienen sein könnten? ich wohne im 10. stock eines hochhauses im stadtzentrum, um das fenster herum ist nix stockartiges zu sehen. mein verdacht wären daher eventuell mauerbienen oder generell eine art wildbiene, da die ja einzeln leben? hab ich davon irgendwann ruhe oder wird das jetzt mein leben sein für den sommer? können die irgendwie in meinem fensterrahmen brüten, bzw. gibt es sowas öfter?

kann ich irgendwas tun um dem entgegenzuwirken und die tiere davon abzuhalten, in meinem fensterrahmen zu nisten? sind diese kleinen schwarzen punkte an dem gitter im zweiten foto neben der biene irgendwelche überbleibsel der tiefe bzw eier oder sowas? das fenster quasi nicht mehr besiedelbar oder „unattraktiver“ machen? finds zwar sehr schön, dass sich die bienen anscheinend wohlfühlen und hätte ich einen balkon wäre das auch gar kein thema, aber so komm ich nicht wirklich damit zurecht. 🙃
