I moved from manual execution to automated strategy. This is what happened to my life

Futures trading is intellectually stimulating and addictive at the same time. Cheap prop evaluation accounts made it more attractive to burn and churn without earnings. When my new funded accounts ended in 122, 129 and evaluation receipts ran in to well over 1000+ … I stepped back and calculated the expenses.

I don’t have an ultra slick strategy, my risk is defined per account and direction bias using EMA (genius 😎).

Anyways, if I can not find a repeatable pattern of behavior after so many sincere attempts, something’s had to change.

I put my idea into a system and wrapped around ninjatrader indicator and programmed my Einstein idea into it. Added some workflow like 15 mins of ‘market analysis’, Execute, Report, Feedback.

Now am I winning like Leonardo ? No, but I am smiling more these days and lines between my eyebrows are less intense.

Some days surprise me a lot and some days I feel like James Bond sitting on that chair tied. Chart watching is tuned into ‘monitoring’ my portfolio which is great.

Am looking at overall trading day rather than shoulder breathing on one poor account trying to learn to balance on its nose!

Good part is that I watch the BEs, TSLs and TPs and SLs and adjust few ticks like a surgeon. Another cliché- Don’t fix if it’s not broken.

Oh! And one more thing. My problem was more of waiting game as much as while am in the trades. I mean, I did not worry so much about losing a trade but when am analyzing, every candle and timeframe tempts me with a setup. What the heeee!!

Just could not shut down that brain of mine

Automation has completely taken this habit out of me.

But I did one thing, to hack my brain to keep it maintain dopamine levels.

Ok, so , I decided to believe in 2 traders cliches. 1. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. 2. Let the money work for you than you working for it (something similar)

I started buying any decent firm accounts as long as they are EOD trailing, 4% max dd to 6% target ratio, (preferably) no consistency in funded phase, both instant funded and 2 step accounts.

Ok, goal is 2 fanged. First is to quench the thrust of being in trade. I planned for 25 trades during ET session and another 25 during after market session. So, 50+ trades per day will fix my problem and both of my cliches.

So, if I plan to take 1 trade per account, I would need 50+ accounts from all these prop firms offering funding programs like I want.

So, I went to every website (around 32+ supporting ninjatrader + US Futures + automation friendly )

So , it turns out, we have around 122+ funding programs offered by new and old prop firms around 30+ , I will do more research

But I filtered all 4% Max DD and 6% target programs and created a massive $20 million in notional funded portfolio . (Eventually if I am able to keep everyone alive)

Currently I have been testing my automation on sim accounts 25 of them for past 2+ years and slowly replacing one by one Sim with real evaluation or instant funded accounts every month.

Oh btw, never copy trades. (My another belief). Fate of each account is decided independently and individually with all due respect! After all it is carrying my 10 future potential payouts!

Built in signal generator takes care of execution using EMA and chart in real time on each account individually and validate prop rules for that account before every Entry. (Smart)

Since risk and targets are in the same range for the most part for all these accounts , trade sizes don’t change much keeping consistency people happy.

My automation is also event aware, so any firm that don’t allow event trading, is skipped for the day. Stops trading once target is reached or Max dd hit. So it won’t bleed into trades unnecessarily.

Again, this is not to trick anyone or any firm, this is just being consistent and true to funding rules.

Will publish more of it as I move along the journey. It would probably take me around 2 years to build this monster, but the good news is meanwhile I am honing the same strategy every so slightly for all these days to create a feedback system. Goal is to make 1-2% a month of the funded accounts.

Meanwhile if anyone is interested to test sim accounts on their own system, ping me.

Also, this runs on your local ninjatrader as indicator . All output files created are in your local trading computer. No signal copy or anything, adjusts to your timeframe. No one instance creates same trades as another. It is designed that way.

Ok, happy trading people. Just remember- With great discipline comes great capital and with great capital comes compounding, compounding brings stability to performance by time (if the market chooses to)

Often changing rules and sending scolding emails

Recently some of us got this nasty email from our favorite prop firm scolding everyone about how few are scamming the accounts.

In the name of transparency, they changed the rules again! They changed from 2k payout to $500 few months ago, and they never stopped. It seems to me that they have all high tech algos to find the slightest discrepancies/ profitable accounts , in our trades and formulate a counter rule! while insisting that trades need ‘human touch’ for them to approve payout.

If you manage 10+ accounts with eval and funded mix, manual decisions for every trade with at least 15-20 mins of analysis per trade takes the entire day (full time job , which we all are trying to escape).

Each trade outcome affects the next manual trade, based on if it was a Win or Loss.

These so called rules and threats of ‘banning’ from platform clearly indicates the shift and intentions of prop firms.

It’s not just rules, it’s their mentality to identify where trades are gaining edge and kill it before it becomes profitable for traders in general.

Stay away from dishonest prop firms and stick with those who maintain the spirit of Prop trading, it’s a win win situation for both parties after all.
