Heston 120 or Heston 60 for Optimal Aesthetics with 55" TV?
Moving into a pretty small place (8' 10" wide living room, 664 sq ft 2 BR apartment) but upgrading my old 46" Sharp Aquos TV to a 55" LG C5.
I'm going to buy a soundbar for the first time, so literally anything will sound great compared to the 15 year old built in speaker in the 2011 Sharp Aquos. Honestly, I am buying the soundbar for aesthetics as much as anything else and I'm not ashamed to admit that. I am not an audiophile. Living in an apartment - a tiny one - I can't blast it anyway so sound is really secondary for this. Money is not an issue. I have a few Marshall bluetooth speakers and a well curated mid-century modern/Japandi aesthetic throughout my new place, so I am set on a Marshall soundbar to match the overall design of the place - either the Heston 60 or 120.
I know conventional wisdom is that the soundbar should be close to the TV width both for aesthetics and sound, which would push me towards the 120, which I was planning on getting.
However, once I went to Best Buy and saw both the 120 and 60 in person, I started having doubts about the 120. The 120 is pretty deep and tall in person which is pretty imposing. The other issue is that the 120 would require the TV to be raised slightly as it will block the very bottom of the screen.
Would a Heston 60 at ~29" wide look stupid under a 55" TV? I'm huge on buying stuff that actually fits the small space, so I don't want anything too large or imposing either.
