Why a dirt absorbing dogmat and not a bathroom mat?

What’s the difference between a dirt absorbing dog mat and a bathroom mat from IKEA? Exept for the dog mat to be water proof. Why pay more than dubble for the dog mat?

Pictures for reference the one with the corner folded is a dog mat and the other a bath mat from IKEA.
