Merly’s BBQ Boracay
A must try when you visit the island.

A must try when you visit the island.
If you're hunting for real Filipino comfort food without the D'Mall prices, Jasper's is the spot. It's been here since 1995, right on the Main Road, and it's pure carinderia vibes: open 6am–10pm daily, fast, no-frills, and cheap.
I had the tapsilog — generous garlic rice, tender tapa, and egg done right — for under ₱150. They also do all-day silog, lugaw, bistec, fried chicken, barbecue, and sinigang. Portions are big, flavors are homey, and it's popular with both locals heading to work and tourists on a budget.
Service is quick but can be hit-or-miss, and cleanliness is average for a busy roadside place. Not fancy, but that's the charm.
Solid 4/5 for value and nostalgia. Perfect after a morning swim.
Booked a trip to Boracay for next week and trying to avoid the "tourist tax" on both my wallet and my itinerary 😅
Looking for latest intel from recent visitors:
Food finds — Any new cafes, local spots, or hidden carinderias worth trying in 2025-2026? Stations 1-3 all welcome. Bonus if it’s not ₱800 for mediocre pasta.
Things to avoid — Tourist traps, scams, overrated activities, or restaurants that fell off?
"I wish I brought/knew this" — Stuff you forgot to pack, hidden fees, beach rules that changed, or things you’d do differently?
Example: Did you regret not bringing reef-safe sunscreen, or booking island hopping with that operator?
For context: Staying 3D2N around Station 2, mid-range budget, down for food trips + chill beach days. Not really into the party scene but open to one sunset bar rec.
Thanks in advance! Will do a trip report after and pay it forward 🍹

I’m doing this for research. And because I miss when social media didn’t need me to “carry the convo” 24/7.
