I grew up in a abusive household so I am hyper aware of everything social cues the way people look at each other tonality in the voice so when people try to manipulate me in this way it’s very easy for me to spot something genuine and something that is not genuine. And especially if you do not look like the circumstances you grew up in people think you’re stupid and they can manipulate you. I laugh every time. My stepdad was highly financially abusive and manipulated my mom out of her dreams. He was a narcissist. Growing up in an emotionally manipulative environment will make give you hypervigilance. I was always told I wasn’t gonna be anything. And I made my dreams a reality without them.
