Plans to release land for private and non-profit hospital in Singapore

The authorities aim to stipulate certain requirements in the tender documents to ensure lower costs, the minister said on April 9.

“The first is bill size restrictions, so that the hospital bills are a certain percentile of the market and cannot lead the market,” he said.

The second stipulation, meanwhile, would be to adopt a fixed-price land tender approach, he added.

“Under such a model, bidders would then compete not based on how much they are prepared to pay for the land, but other qualitative factors, such as their care model, cost efficiency, approach to recruiting and developing manpower, and their commitment and policies towards affordable healthcare.”

Community care workers can expect pay hike of about 7% or more for most roles: MOH

Under the revised guidelines, for example, a staff nurse who earned a median monthly salary of $4,420 in 2024 would see this increase to about $4,980 in 2026.

Similarly, the median monthly salary for pharmacists is projected to rise from $4,780 in 2024 to about $5,400 in 2026.

While the guidelines are not mandatory, MOH strongly advise CCOs that fall below the recommended salary levels to adjust their pay packages by early 2027, noting that the implementation of revised salaries may take time.

But organisations offering salaries above the published benchmarks are encouraged to maintain their competitive position and continue conducting regular salary reviews for their staff.

At first glance, the increase ($500-$600) seems high for just 2 years, but it’s only a guideline and not mandatory
