Hiring OPERATIONS ASSISTANT — Remote

OPERATIONS ASSISTANT — Remote

**Compensation:** 60,000 PKR/month with a 90-day performance review
**Hours:** Full-time, flexible schedule
**Start:** Immediate

About This Role

I run multiple businesses at once — a metal yard art brand, a steel fabrication bid sourcing operation, a junk car acquisition network, a SaaS platform, and a salvage yard. I make strategic moves, sign deals, and create productive chaos. Your job is to be behind me turning that chaos into results.

This is not a VA role where you get a checklist every morning. You'll get broad direction and figure out the rest. Some days you're researching competitors on Etsy. Next day you're sourcing government bid opportunities for steel fabrication projects. Day after that you're writing website copy, coordinating with our CAD design team on what to build next, or following up on something that's been sitting too long.

Your value is simple — things don't sit idle when you're around.

What a typical week looks like

  • Research market trends and competitors for a metal art product line
  • Write product listings and website copy that customers actually see
  • Source government and municipal bid opportunities across multiple platforms
  • Send design briefs to our CAD team based on your own research
  • Draft cold outreach messages to potential customers and partners
  • Build simple SOPs so recurring tasks don't depend on anyone's memory
  • Follow up on fifteen different loose ends across multiple businesses
  • Flag problems before they become emergencies

Who you are

  • Strong English writer — clear, organized, and persuasive
  • Self-directed — you figure out the next step instead of waiting to be told
  • Comfortable with varied work — "go research this and come back with a plan" is a normal assignment
  • Fast learner who can jump between completely different businesses in the same day
  • Reliable daily communicator on WhatsApp
  • Available for overlap with US Central Time for daily check-ins

Who you're NOT

  • Someone who needs detailed instructions for every task
  • Someone who disappears when they're stuck instead of asking questions
  • Someone who sends work they found online and pretends they made it

What this becomes

The right person grows into a real leadership role as these businesses scale. I promote from within and I invest in people who take ownership. But you earn it first.

HOW TO APPLY

Do not send a generic resume and cover letter. Complete this test task instead.

Test Task (45–60 minutes)

**Context you'll need:**

One of the businesses you'd be working on is **Yard Art Land** — a brand selling large 3D metal sculpture kits. These are interlocking steel panel designs cut on a plasma table that customers assemble themselves. Think dinosaur skeletons, wolves, and other animals. We sell two sizes: large yard sculptures (around 5–6 feet) and smaller desk/shelf models. We have a CAD design team creating original designs with DXF cut files for our plasma table, assembly manuals, and 3D renders. We're launching on Etsy first, expanding from there. We don't have live listings or a full website yet — you'd be helping build that from scratch.

The other businesses you'd touch in this role:

  • **TCB Metalworks** — sourcing government and commercial bids for a Wisconsin steel fabrication shop. Finding RFPs, building relationships with general contractors, cold outreach.
  • **Junk Car Crew** — a junk car acquisition network with 9 Google Business locations across Wisconsin. Website content, landing pages, local SEO coordination.
  • **Auto Salvage Automation** — a SaaS platform for salvage yards. Customer support, onboarding, feature tracking.
  • **On-Kaul Auto Salvage** — a physical salvage yard. Occasional admin and coordination tasks.

**Part 1 — Research & Analysis (300–500 words)**

Spend 30–45 minutes researching the market for large metal yard art and metal garden sculptures. Look at Etsy, Amazon, Google Shopping, competitor websites — wherever you'd actually look if this were your job.

Write a short brief that covers:

  • Who is actually buying this stuff? Be specific, not just "homeowners."
  • What price range are similar products selling at?
  • What are 2–3 things you noticed that Yard Art Land should do differently or better than what's already out there?
  • What's one product idea you'd recommend we design next, and why?

**Part 2 — How You'd Start (100–200 words)**

You just got hired. It's Monday. You have the five businesses listed above and a boss who communicates on WhatsApp and gives broad direction, not step-by-step instructions. How do you organize your first two weeks? What do you prioritize? What do you need from me to get moving?

**Submit your brief along with your resume. Compensation for this role is 60,000 PKR/month.**

I don't care if your research is perfect. I care that you actually did it, that you write clearly, and that you form your own opinions instead of just listing facts. Part 2 tells me whether you think like an operator or just a researcher.
