Need career advice (Consulting / Tech / SAP / AI direction)?

I’m currently working as an Analyst at Deloitte USI in the consulting domain (~8 months), primarily in project management within the Life Sciences domain (around 7 months experience here).

Background:

  • MBA in Finance & Business Analytics
  • PSM I certified (planning for PSM II next year)

I’m trying to figure out the right direction going forward and feeling a bit conflicted.

On one hand, I like the Life Sciences domain—the community is relatively niche, and it seems easier to build recognition over time.

On the other hand, I’m unsure how to position myself with the rise of AI and tech. I’ve been considering certifications like:

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner then AWS Sol Architect
  • SAP (functional, possibly S/4HANA Finance)
  • PSM II (for delivery/Agile depth)

But I don’t want to randomly collect certifications without a clear path.

What I’m trying to understand:

  • Should I go deeper into Life Sciences + ERP (SAP) as a specialization?
  • Or build a more general tech consulting profile (cloud + AI awareness)?
  • How important is it to actively pivot toward AI-related roles at this stage, given I’m not from a strong technical/coding background?

Long-term:
I’m also planning to move to Europe (Netherlands / Sweden) in ~2 years, so I’d like to align my skillset with what’s valued there.
