Hi I'm a very beginner digital artist (Also started taking a Traditional art course last summer) and I really would like some tips.
I'm trying to draw by using references but the anatomy just doesn't quite look right and I can't pinpoint where the issue is. Especially on the first picture.
Tbh I don't understand the constant debates about the 90s Anime, manga and Crystal (PGSM managed to get spared somehow thankfully) because imo all of them have their ups and downs and I don't really understand why people really get heated sometimes
Like in my opinion both Crystal and 90s have good OSTs. They're very different in style but I don't dislike neither of them. I prefer some things over they other ofc (I actually prefer Cosmos over Stars personally). But regardless I like both of them for what they're and I can never get around the concept of this constant debates about which one superior when all of them can co-exist.
Everyone has different tastes and preferences and that is okay and to be expected but sometimes some people just straight up go to the insulting part and it's kinda sad tbh. I once saw someone call Crystal's music "Orchestra slop" and it just feels disrespectful to the composers who worked on it.
At some points the constant debates about which one is superior gets tiring. All of them have great sides and their flaws. Prefering one over the other is okay, having criticisms is okay also. But I think it goes too far sometimes.
Even though I like Winx designs a lot, I feel like more alien like features or even animal features after they transform would help the design a bit more imo
For example: The Monster High x Winx Club fanart by jelliemia_art on Instagram is a great reference
Aisha with fins, Flora and Bloom's antlers etc. There could be great design potenial there.
We know the Magical Universe is vast and I think having these type of elements would show the vastness and the diversity of the Magical Dimension more
Winx mixing sci-fi and fantasy (This genre is called Science Fantasy if you're interested) is an amazing idea but I think it leaves more to be desired when it comes to designs. I think the science fantasy vibe would work better if they had more non humanoid features after they transformed
But that's just my opinion
