[Dornblüth] My custom Dornblüth has arrived.
After 18 months of waiting, my Dornblüth has arrived. I always admired their craftsmanship and I asked Dirk if they could build me a unique piece based on my design. Since they build all of their dials by hand in house, they were happy to work with me. While it may not show up well in pictures, everything on the dial is engraved by hand using an old school pantagraph and then painted by hand. The amount of hand finishing on both the dial and the movement is incredible. The power reserve is my favorite complication, thus the sort of odd design.
I watched Teddy's video on how Tudor builds their watches and it was incredible to see all of those precision machines working to put out such a consistantly high quality. But, I just prefer something built by a craftsman using traditional methods. Every bevel and edge may not perfect, bit that is the charm of the watch
