This is my first TCG and I’ve learned to never buy packs again, just singles lol

I was in a showdown and the enemy played a spell to lower my might. An action

I use repulse

They use abandon

I use abandon.

Then it resolves, but as it's resolving they play abandon again on the action. Is this allowed?

I thought that when we resolve a chain it ALL resolves. You can't stop the resolving mid resolve to add another reaction. But I might be wrong.
