Shadow knight confusion
I picked up my first book and after reading the prelude short story i was left pretty confused at the last few pages. Theres a point where the nighlords realize the blood angels sent more then just scouts and theres real marines present. From that point on i had to re-read the last pages multiple times and still didn’t understand what was happening.
Only after reading a summary on the wiki did i realize he was having crazy visions and passed out. In the actual book, he just says a bunch of nonsense about a machine god and its never explained why. I honestly thought he got shot and thats why he went into shock, since it was right before they confront the space marines.
My question basically boils down to, are instances like this going to keep happening as i keep going? What should have took me 5 mins to read turned into a 20 min research project on what i actually just read.
Im going to finish anyway, but would like to know if that kind of thing happens often and if that prelude also tripped up anyone else, thanks.
