Anyone familiar with the venue and the surrounding neighborhood?

Even though I've only ever seen the Whigs play in Portland over the last 30+ years, I've never set foot in The Aladdin.

I'm looking for suggestions on where to hang out pre show and either connect with other fans and/or try to meet up with some Portland friends.
