Hey everyone,

I am strongly considering attending UF or UC Davis for biomedical engineering. Can anybody who is current/past student and studied BME answer any of my questions?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently deciding if I should attend UF (University of Florida) or UC Davis. I plan to major in Biomedical Engineering. Can someone give me advice on what to choose?

Here are a few factors I'm taking into consideration:

1. UC Davis has D1 soccer while UF does not. - (I plan to walk on if I decide to go)

2. Location matters to me a lot. The more opportunities where I can do internships, work for companies after college, and do career-oriented work, the better.

3. Professors' work - I plan on working in a lab/professor(s) in BME to build devices and ultimately commercialize. I'm big on innovation.

4. Social life - I want to have as many friends as possible and just be happy. Also get a girlfriend my freshman year.

5. Interdisciplinary work - I have a passion for robotics, AI, prosthetics, and entrepreneurship.

My main goal is to just enjoy college and have a good time.

I also haven't toured either school YET, so if you have any recommedations or even want to meet up, lmk!

If you go to UC Davis, can you answer all of these bullet points? And if you are familiar with UF or know somebody that goes there, can you compare the two?
