Chatgpt instructed how to remove google apps, now Redmi 9 Prime is stuck in Bootloop. exhausted all chatgpt suggestions on how to repair. Flash Rom is unsigned. Suggestions to reflash or preserve data please! Attempted degoogling went badly wrong. :( Want data.

I had some kind of app vault app that I had to erase every morning almost, and it became annoying. I thought maybe erasing some google things would get rid of it constantly appearing, and there were many I never used and never wanted to use, but they wouldn't erase.

Chatgpt lead me through how to erase them through the adb platform tools. It had warned that some things may make the system unstable. An unusable brick does not match my definition of unstable.

I feel like that wasn't my first restart after erasing the things, but it may have been. Phone was entirely fine for weeks. But at the restart, it just showed menu of reboot, wipe data, connect with miassistant. If nothing is selected, bootloops until battery is dead. Reboot does same.

Spent several full days now going through chatgpt's suggestions of possible resolves. It has gotten to the point of saying take it to a service center in India who has a signed rom file that the miassistant will accept, or find forensic data recovery centers in the U.S. There is one in Austin it recommended that is the closest. I'm near Houston. Probably cost hundreds. All because I wanted less google on the phone. Silly me trusting AI.

I've asked Xiaomi support. They told me that if the company who sold it to me no longer exists, I should take legal action against them. Not sure how that makes sense. But refused to provide any help.

Someone on here has posted that calling their number while in a bootloop got it out of the bootloop. I tried this, and it did go from straight to vm to ringing, I was so so excited. But it never exited the bootloop. Just rang a lot, and same.

I present to the reddits. Smartest people on here. Perhaps someone has another suggestion neither presented to me by AI, nor have I come across elsewhere. Can someone here fix my stupid, please?

It's definitely a software issue, not hardware. I never had battery issues and a service center checked the battery and confirmed it was not it. Checked the button. Said everything was fine hardware-wise, as I suspected, as it was always great hardware-wise.

I have no need of the phone as a device that is wiped of the info. My only goal is having it accessible again, or recovering the data.

Some chat provided info:

Your Redmi 9 Prime is enforcing:

  1. Bootloader lock → blocks fastboot
  2. Recovery signature check → blocks ROMs
  3. Encrypted OTA channel → blocks interception
  4. File-based encryption → blocks data access

Chat recommended this to tell service center:

Phone: Redmi 9 Prime (lancelot)

State: bootloop, locked bootloader

Goal: DO NOT WIPE DATA

I need:

- either board-level repair to boot once

- OR data extraction without factory reset

Important:

Device must not be reset or flashed in a way that erases userdata.
