So… my husband was having a tough morning. He’s a bit high strung and feeling a lot of pressure from work so he’s stressed, plus he’s overwhelmed with home life. Once in a while when he needs to check out for a bit he goes into his walk-in closet, turns off the light, closes the door, and takes his time regrouping. He’s easily in there for an hour or more. <—I’m saying this part so you hopefully don’t judge me. 🥴 He was pretty much over everything and marched his way into the closet, so as usual I let him be. I have 3 kids and 2 dogs to also care for, so I was busy with them in addition to trying to get the house back in order. My eldest and I heard some noise, but didn’t think more of it since my husband is always knocking things over. After a couple of hours I went to check on him and he was standing up, holding his head, and then somewhat hysterically started crying asking “why am I here??” several times. I was confused and asked him if he fell asleep, which I had assumed he did, but he kept repeating himself, at which point I had an oh $hit moment realizing he must’ve passed out and that was the noise. He didn’t remember walking in to the closet or being in there at all. He peed himself while unconscious. He landed on his right side so his right hip, arm, hand, and right side of his face were sore. He has a history of high BP since December, which has gotten better, and isn’t out at-home monitor his BP appeared normal when we checked about 30 minutes after he came to. He didn’t want to go be checked out even though I was pushing for it… Tell me how serious of an issue this is. He seems to listen to Reddit before anything else, so if you say he’s gotta be seen I think he’ll listen. To add, he’s 45 and scheduled to play on his local baseball league’s team tomorrow.
TLDR: husband fainted, I didn’t realize, he was out for probably 1.5-2 hours before coming to. He peed himself. Right side of his body hurt we assume from how he landed. He had some memory loss. He didn’t want to go to the ER or urgent care. His blood pressure has been elevated as of December.
