MAGA sure don't talk about eggs, groceries or gas much these days..

It's Easter - So I thought I'd revisit this gem from 6 years ago. Donald Trump unable to name one verse from "favourite book" The Bible

To add to the extremely long list of the blatantly obvious.

A brief recent history of U.S economics.
Before Reagan the wealthy (individuals and corporations) paid a lot of tax. Roads got built, schools, hospitals...its a long list. Then Reagan and bush senior got elected and you had a $2T deficit under Reagan and then $4T under bush senior because they cut tax on the wealthy.
Clinton came in and raised taxes again and republicans all voted against it and said it was going to kill the economy and guess what...set a record for the best job creation of all time creating over 23 million jobs. More than Reagan, bush senior and w bush combined.
Under Clinton the budget deficit shrank every year and then 4 straight budget surpluses in his second term. The republicans voted to use the surplus for a $1T tax cut for guess who? Then W bush came in and passed 2 more tax cuts and lead into the recession.
Then Citizens United got passed in 2010. Spending unlimited money on campaigns by corporations and donors became first amendment "free speech". Elected politicians pushed further reductions of corporate tax rates and increased budget deficits have followed. Meanwhile profits reached all time highs, wages stagnated, and the number of people needing food assistance ballooned.
In his first 11 months of his second term Donald J Trump managed to spend 177.5 years worth of presidential salary on golf, mostly at his own resorts of course.
And now Trump has borrowed $50 Billion a week for the past 5 months (as of March 13 2026).

By the 19th of March 2026 US debt surpasses $39 trillion amid the Iran war. - “At the current growth rate, we will hit a staggering $40 trillion in national debt before this fall’s elections,”

Now you're starting to see how he bankrupted casinos and every other business he's ever touched.
Bezos just bought himself a new yacht. It cost half a billion $. It needs a $75 million "support yacht". Annual maintenance is at least $30 million. But tell me he can't pay more tax. Tell me that he can't possibly pay his workers more.
If you got paid $200 per hour since the birth of jesus (estimate) you would have approximately 0.4% of Elon Musks wealth. If you got $1 million a day for 2026 years, you still wouldn't have as much wealth as Elon Musk. But the U.S.A can't afford healthcare for everyone like every other civilised country.

Alt National Park Service. - The Trump administration is attempting to dismantle the U.S. Forest Service. And it's as bad as it sounds.
The Trump administration is attempting to dismantle the U.S. Forest Service. The goal is to cause constant chaos so you can’t follow what’s happening day to day. Here is what’s going on.
BREAKING: The administration just announced a sweeping restructuring and it’s as bad as it sounds. Headquarters is leaving Washington D.C. for Salt Lake City. All nine regional offices are closing. More than 50 research facilities across 31 states are being eliminated. The regional system the agency has used since its founding in 1907 is gone.
In their place 15 political “state directors,” embedded with the same state officials and industry groups that have long pushed for more logging and fewer protections mirroring the Bureau of Land Management model that public lands advocates have fought for decades.
That puts 193 million acres (the largest public land system in the nation, bigger than Texas) under a structure designed for political access, not scientific stewardship.
Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz framed it as getting “closer to the forests.” What it actually does is gut the career scientists and independent oversight that stood between those forests and the people who want to exploit them.
Scientists won’t relocate en masse. Long-term studies, datasets, and research partnerships built over decades will collapse. Once that expertise walks out the door, it doesn’t come back.
The Forest Service was built by Theodore Roosevelt and Gifford Pinchot to keep professional, science-based management out of the hands of industry. That vision is being systematically dismantled not with a bang, but with a press release. 193 million acres. Gone from federal protection in all but name.
