Here's what it is, what's coming, and how to get in

Luca, Yash, and Vishnu here from the Questrade Pro team. Today is a big one. We’re excited to announce that Questrade Pro is officially in Open Beta. Free for every Questrade customer (and will stay that way once the Beta ends).

If you tuned into Dawn of Investing back in November, we gave you a sneak peek at what we were building with Pro, and why we were building it.

What was true then and is true now is that this release doesn't happen without this community. Pro is the direct result of thousands of conversations with active traders just like you.

What you said. What we made.

The same three ideas about what matters most kept coming up in those conversations: speed, signal, and performance. 

All three have gone from ideas to widgets and features you can use—right here, right now.

It all starts with an infinite workspace, all your own.

Like a lot of you, we’re creatures of habit when we trade. We know where our widgets live, which charts sit on which screen… we don't want to think about any of that mid-session. So we didn't build Pro as a fixed layout. It's a canvas. Every element is a widget. You arrange them, resize them, link them into groups that stay in sync across multiple screens.

If you want a starting point, there's a preset workspace that looks and feels close to Edge Web, so your muscle memory carries over.

On speed.

Automation is collapsing workflows that used to take hours into minutes. The pace never slows down, and Pro had to match yours—not hold you back. We obsessed over the time between having a trade idea and executing it. The market doesn't wait for every chart you mark up by hand or every setup you scan for yourself.

• Auto Pattern Detection: charts that automatically draw support and resistance and find dozens of technical patterns (flags, wedges, head and shoulders, diamond tops) as they form.
• 1-second candles: see how price reacts to a level down to the second.
• Chart trading: directly from the chart, for stocks, ETFs, and options.

On signal.

Idea generation is always-on now. When information is everywhere, what matters is the quality of the intel—surfacing what counts fastest and filtering what doesn't. That's the bar we set for Pro.

• Options Radar: a scanner that continuously surveys the market for strategies ranked by probability of profit, surfacing plays you didn't know to look for.
• Intelligence: a built-in AI research companion, powered by the same data used by hedge funds and institutional investors. Ask about a stock, a sector, an event—get an answer grounded in filings, earnings reports, and financial news in seconds. Free for every customer for a limited time. We want everyone to try it.

On performance.

You pour real effort into this craft every day. Pro had to be worthy of that effort—and that runs deeper than platform uptime (though we made sure that was top-notch, too).

Pro is a platform to become a better trader on, not just trade on. One of the traders we interviewed makes himself a daily report card: average wins, average losses, and whether he stuck to his strategy. That instinct inspired how we approached performance measurement in Pro.

• Performance Dashboard: win rate, profit factor, R-multiple, realized P&L—by trade, by symbol, over any time horizon. Plus a daily journal that surfaces patterns in how you trade, not just what you earned.

This is a beta, and we're going to build in the open

We want to be upfront: we are in beta and there will be some kinks. A few flows aren't where we want them yet. We're shipping improvements weekly (and sometimes more often) based on what you tell us in the Community Hub and Feedback button inside Pro. That's where the roadmap actually gets shaped. Nothing disappears into a void.
