Started a little battery comparison project with my daughter — learned something unexpected

My daughter had a school project and we ended up turning it into a little site where we compare lithium batteries. While putting it together I noticed something I hadn’t really thought about before — the smaller batteries look cheap, but they’re way more expensive per kWh. Like an 8Ah battery was around $290/kWh, and some of the bigger ones were closer to $90–100/kWh.

Curious if anyone here actually looks at cost per kWh when picking batteries, or if you mostly just go by size/use case?

If anyone wants to see what we built I can share it.
