Hello,
Few months ago I bought a brand new KIA EV3 GTline-S (with HUD) and when we got home I noticed the horrible reflection. Sunny days hide the reflection - our test drive was on such day. KIA never mentioned it.
I started following up with my KIA dealership to get them to correct it - there is a clear culprit which is the plastic panel that has the air vents contained and the cut out for the HUD. After sending them pictures and almost 2 months of emailing back and forth; KIA does NOT acknowledge it as an issue. Below are some quotes from my email chain with then:
"Windscreen reflection is not uncommon on cars in particular on sunny days with some cars suffering more than others" - KIA Brand manager doesn't understand that reflection is much worse on non-sunny days in the car he is selling...
Another email and their response: "reflection you have noticed on your vehicle is not an issue that has been raised and as such no counter measure is in place"
It is absolute baffling to me that a new car can be released today with such an obvious defect that nobody has spotted. The correction for it - paint the panel mat black which is very easy to in factory conditions.
To say the least response from KIA was as expected - they don't care. They want to make their cars cheaply with issues and sell them. I want other KIA EV3 and other EV owners show their pictures so we can gather enough momentum and get motoring journalists that review cars on YouTube do a review on KIA EV3 reflection issues.
Post in this thread your images and your comments. Once we get some momentum going, I will start sharing it with people who review cars on YouTube.
