I recently noticed the resurgence of the debate due to a controversial statement by the Vice President of Argentina on the matter. This did not go unnoticed on social media, and I have seen how liberals and conservatives, left and right, have united on both sides.

Beyond the nationalist rhetoric, I was surprised to see many leftist defending the British position, given that Lenin spoke extensively about anti-imperialism and reactionary wars.

Edit: French and Ukranian aswell, which is weird since they always defend the self-determination right from the Kelpers but ignore the referendum of Crimea.
