Red cage mushroom aka basket stinkhorn
I found this colony of mushrooms in the garden today. Apparently they have a horrendous smell to attract insects, but these did not smell. Maybe after first emerging from their white 'egg' structures? This one seemed a little older. Happy spring everyone!
