Stumbled upon the new series on Prime

And holy FUCK does it suck. Like...what the hell is this? Literally everything about this is wrong.

I made it 10 minutes in, and I was skipping all the backstory bullshit, pointless celebrating, families in the crowd and the overall pomp and circumstance. The Miz and the Rosci chick suck as hosts, and not only does Chris Rose suck at commentating, but the camera is WAY too close, and he's not even in the building; he's commentating clearly after the fact. It's a joke.

What made the original version so great is that it was quick. Introduced the contestants with a side graphic. Name, age, weight. That was it. Events were up and then done. No cameras in the crowd watching either side celebrating for eternity. Because of that, they could have 5, 6 events, PLUS The Eliminator. Commentators actually in the building, commenting on what was happening and not attempting stupid impressions.

Everyone involved with this should be fired.

Remembered a potential encounter from 20+ years ago.

So when I was in my early 20's, a friend of mine ( I shall call Adam ) invited me to spend the night at his place; he was staying in his grandmother's house. So we get there, come in through the kitchen and as we go up the stairs ( the stairwell was between the kitchen and the living room ), I see his grandmother sitting in the recliner in the far corner of the room.

We continue up the stairs to his room, and we get right into playing video games and playing music pretty loudly. After a while I say "Hey, shouldn't we keep it down so your grandmother can sleep?" "What are you talking about? We're the only ones here." It was at the moment I felt my blood run cold. I just nodded but couldn't bring myself to tell him what I saw. I turns out she had, in fact, passed, but I don't know when.

I'll admit thinking back it simply couldn't been an illusion; seeing a recliner in the corner of the room with the right light and the blanket on the back of the chair from the corner of my eye could've given the appearance of an elderly woman just sitting there, but I swear I know what I saw.
